This past weekend in Portsmouth was the perfect getaway. It's such a quintessential New England town and as you know, I'm all about those. Despite the freezing cold, we spent most of Saturday walking around town exploring all of the shops. Before dinner, we went to the most adorable skating rink at Strawberry Banke. It was complete with a warming hut, hot apple cider, and a fire pit. Despite how fun and amazing this was, I had a chill running through my bones afterwards that wouldn't quit. So after dinner, we popped back to the hotel to warm up by the fire.
We spent the night at The Hotel Portsmouth, a beautiful, boutique-y hotel that is a part of the Lark Hotel Collection. The staff was all incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home throughout our stay.
Our room, which I sadly didn't snap a photo of, was simple yet beautiful and a very comfortable spot to serve as home base. I also loved the parlor room, which is featured in most of these photos. The dark walls and leather tufted furniture, gallery wall, and stacks of old books, created a cozy and classy room that was ideal for hanging out. It was the perfect spot to end the day- curled up by the fire with a bottle of wine and a set of checkers.
