So a few birthdays happened over the past month that I neglected to share with you all. Most importantly, stixandstonez turned ONE! The day kind of snuck up on me in early July and I wanted to celebrate somehow but didn't really have the time. This blog has become essentially a child to me so neglecting its birthday just didn't feel right. Luckily, my own birthday rolled around (23 woohoo!) and I obviously wasn't going to forget about that so it was easy to celebrate two in one. Honestly, I feel like we were celebrating for a full week...starting with celebrations with friends at home on my actual birthday (August 2nd), followed by celebrating with my family on Nantucket. But this gal ain't complaining- I love a good celebration.
I can't believe I've been taking care of this little bundle of love for an entire year. It feels like just yesterday I was cooped up alone, managing a gallery in Maine and in need of something to do in my spare time so I wouldn't go crazy. At the same time, I can't believe it's only been a year. Working on this blog everyday for a year has been incredibly difficult and time consuming that it feels like I have been building it for years. But what outweighs that one hundred percent is how rewarding and fun this has been and all of the new opportunities it has brought about in my life. I'm pretty obsessed with doing it and now cannot imagine life without my little bundle of blog. Here's to the next year!
We have very limited decorating supplies Nantucket, which was actually kind of good because we had to get pretttyyy creative. We bought some wildflowers at the farmers market and then I picked a bunch of filler flowers on my bike ride. We spelled happy birthday in flower petals and kept everything else simple.
