So I'm not going to lie...when I first started this post I was leaning more towards the this-is-a-trend-and-I-have-no-clue-why approach. But after pulling together all of these images I have to say I'm feeling the fanny pack trend way more now. Of course, in order for it to be acceptable, it has been renamed the "belt bag" because lets be honest, no one wants to wear something called a fanny pack.
In the past I've had absolutely no problem with the occasional fanny pack if, you know, you're attending a music festival or something. Otherwise known as occasions where you're pretty much supposed to look ridiculous. They're comical, fun, a conversation starter, and practical for when you're sitting on someone's shoulders, above the crowd, wearing a crop top and watching Florence and The Machine. But ever since they started popping up on the runways, both high end designers as well as mainstream stores, have been featuring "belt bags" that are actually...attractive. They're also great because most of them can double as a clutch, but also have a strap for when you need to go hands free...which is a lot (evening bike rides? being a tourist? eating in any form?) So what do you guys think-- would you wear a belt bag? I've pulled together a few options I would definitely consider below.
1. Elizabeth and James Cynnie Suede Belt Bag, ($265).
2. Night journey belt bag, ($14).
3. Topshop Leather pouch belt, ($24).
4. Urban Outfitters Ecote textured belt bag, ($39).
5. Clare V. canvas fanny pack, ($225).
6. Clare V. jaguar printed nubuck fanny pack, ($289).
8. Celine bumbag, ($1,900).
9. Herschel Supply Co. seventeen fanny pack, ($25).
