We stopped for the night in Cáceres on our way to Seville. This tiny little city felt like a real-life movie set. The original city was founded by the Romans in 25 BC. It seems like a pretty normal and modern city at first, but if you keep driving to the center, you'll find the old city hidden away atop a hill.
It's made up of tiny (TINY) little cobblestones roads that meander around a small square (above) and a larger main square (below). We attempted to drive our rather large rental van through said roads and almost lost a mirror or two...DO NOT TRY TO DRIVE HERE. I repeat, do not. Following our various car scares, we had a great time meandering through the old streets and squares. There's not a ton to do here, but it's an incredible place to visit simply because of its history and beauty.
