I felt it only appropriate that I finally make some Moscow Mules, seeing as the mule is my school's beloved mascot. It also helps that I received the cutest copper, monogrammed mugs for graduation this year from my brother's girlfriend. I hadn't had a chance to use them yet after traveling all summer but when cocktail hour came around this week, they were the perfect excuse to whip up some Moscow, or Colby, Mules.
I always forget about Moscow Mules when I'm out to eat or for drinks, but they are such an easy and refreshing cocktail. I'm going to keep these in mind next time I have people over for drinks or am looking for a cocktail to order while out to dinner.
Recipe (for one drink):
- 1 half lime
- 2 ounces vodka
- 4 to 6 ounces ginger beer
Squeeze lime into your awesome copper mug and drop in half a lime. Add ice, pour in vodka then fill with cold ginger beer. Told you it was easy!
The mugs are also a fun thing to have in your kitchen. They are so much cooler than ordinary glasses and somehow make sitting al fresco more fun. The ones I have from One Kings Lane are unfortunately sold out, but I found some other cute ones below.
