I've been noticing a bit of a trend around lately. And by a bit I mean EVERYWHERE. I'm not sure exactly when, but tassels have become a thing. There on jewelry, bags, clothes, furniture- you name it, you can tassel it. I never knew how I felt about tassels- especially after the way they've been used in very traditional and old interior design styling. Usually found on the bottom of thick curtains or as a trim hanging from the bottom of a chair, window treatment, etc. I feel like people thought if you put a tassel trim on it- it will look more expensive, and therefore, more luxurious. This old way of using tassels doesn't appeal to me. However, I am becoming a fan of this resurrection of the tassel. After spotting the necklaces below while walking around Nantucket, I think I've been won over. They're fun and add a nice touch of texture and color to necklaces, bags, shoes etc. Why not right?
While browsing for other tassel-ed items I literally had to restrain myself so as to not overwhelm you with photos. Safe to say there are a lot of tassel-decorated objects popping out of the creative woodwork these days and I can't say I hate it. Anyone else having positive/negative thoughts about tassels? Feast your eyes on some examples below.
