Yesterday we trekked through the rain to the Nantucket Music Festival. The lineup included artists such as Steel Pulse, Ben Taylor and Dispatch. The weather, however, included torrential downpour so only the devoted came- decked out in rain boots and any other rain gear they could find. Despite the rain everyone was in good spirits, dancing in the mud and running through the rain. Not the turnout they expected because of the weather but still a lot of fun. There were local food vendors and shops, a ferris wheel, and all of your standard carnival food. Considering this was the Nantucket Music Festival's inaugural year and it was pouring, I'd say there was a pretty good turnout. Next year's festival is sure to be a huge hit, especially if its a nice weekend weather wise.
Luckily we had VIP tickets which included access to a tent (read: dry and covered) and catered food and beverages. The food was pretty good- a spread of dishes like green bean salad, quinoa, and seared ahi tuna. The hot coffee and tea was just what was needed on a cold and rainy day.
