One of the things I miss most about being abroad is the spectacular Christmas markets that take place in every city and town during the month of December. I spent both my freshmen fall and junior fall abroad and one of the main reasons why I picked first semester was because I knew I could witness the wonderful lead up to my favorite holiday. I frequently visited the Christmas markets in Paris and Dijon, and also everywhere I traveled during the month of December (Prague was my favorite).
Although no Christmas markets can hold a candle to those in Europe, I still try to seek them out wherever and whenever I can. Jump to: NYC. Upon my arrival, I was itching to find somewhere to get my Christmas market fill. After a little research, Mary and I decided to hop on over to the one at Union Square since it was a short walk from where we were. It was filled with rows of vendors selling delicious baked goods, cute prints, ornaments, letterpress cards, lotions, etc. A great spot to pick up a last minute gift for friends or family.
