Throughout boarding school and college, I always sacrificed having a desk in my room to make more room for more necessary furniture items (room for clothes). The same goes for my room at home, where there's not quite enough space to make a desk a priority. Lately as I apply for jobs and hear about my friends' new office spaces, I can't help but day dream about the day when I have room (and hopefully $$) for an office space in my home.
I often find myself doing work on my laptop in bed, and as comfortable as that is, there is definitely something to be said for having a separate space for work. I always find I am more productive and my bed is much more inviting at the end of the day when I do my work somewhere else.
As a result of my office-less state, local coffee shops have become my office. As much as I love Starbucks, I really feel it's important to support local businesses. Whenever I feel like I need a change of scenery from home to get some blogging work or job search work done, I take off to Haute Coffee. Located in Concord center (and fairly new), it's cozy interior makes for the perfect spot to get some work done. More importantly, coming from someone who very rarely drinks coffee-- their coffee is AMAZING and their food is made from locally sourced ingredients. If you live in the area or are swinging through, I highly recommend stopping in.
