Hello and welcome!
My name is Elizabeth Stone and I'm 24 years old. I graduated from Colby College (a little school way up in Waterville, Maine) in the spring of 2014 where I studied Art with a concentration in Printmaking. I love all things creative and I always have. Everyone saw it coming: I’ve jumped on the blog bandwagon. I will be posting photos and thoughts from my travels and the things that inspire me- mainly interior design, fashion, and food. I hope you enjoy following me in my struggle to figure out my life post grad!
How did you get started?
I started stixandstonez in July of 2014 (I can't believe it's been two years!) I was working at an art gallery in the middle of nowhere Maine, and felt lacking in drive and inspiration. The days were really slow, I had just graduated college, and I was feeling somewhat hopeless and unexcited about the future. So I decided to create a blog as a means of documenting the things, people and places around me that I find inspiring. It has become the most satisfying and fun platform to showcase things that excite me and I have learned more than I ever thought possible (corny but true).
Where did you go to college and what did you major in?
I went to Colby College in Waterville, ME and graduated in 2014. I majored in Studio Art and concentrated in Printmaking.
What kind of camera and lenses do you use?
I use a Canon 60D with both a Canon 50mm lens and a Sigma 17-70mm lens.
Is blogging your full time job?
I started the blog right after graduating from Colby College, and did it full time for about a year while I was job searching. I absolutely loved doing it full time but unfortunately someone's got to pay the bills! Although I am starting to make a little income from stixandstonez, it isn't enough to support me full time (yet!) Luckily I found the most amazing job working as a Junior Design Assistant for Kate Maloney Interior Design in Somerville, MA. When I’m not at KMID, I spend my time working on stixandstonez.
What’s your policy on collaborating with brands/individuals?
I love working with brands that align with the S&S brand and feel like a natural fit. However, I am extremely selective and only accept pieces that I would have bought myself. If something that I post is sponsored, it will be clearly marked as such and any items that are courtesy of the brand will be marked (c/o).
I love hearing about new opportunities, interesting businesses, cool individuals, awesome restaurants etc. and would love to discuss a partnership or collaboration of any kind. Please email email@example.com to get in touch.
May I use your photographs on my site?
I’m so happy you like them! Yes, you may use my images on your site, just make sure to give credit to stixandstonez and link back to www.stix-and-stonez.com.
